AMEE is enabling its first Ireland-based project, Edenbee, in Dublin.
David Hayes sums up their project, and the benefits of AMEE to them;
“Edenbee is thrilled to be collaborating with the guys at AMEE. We decided to use the AMEE API because of its ease of implementation, using a constantly updated algorithm hosted by a third party saved our developers Clearleft & New Bamboo a lot of development time and allowed us to focus on designing a rich user-friendly experience. Because it uses official UK government data means the end numbers can be readily compared with other carbon calculators, which can be deemed to be “approved” at a governmental level.
Edenbee is a user-friendly social networking community that offers a unique and dynamic way of measuring your carbon footprint overtime through their innovative Carbon Timeline application. Users can create a profile, set goals, share ideas, and connect with others via the social network functionalities through the blogs and forums. Edenbee is about good design, simplicity, transparency, and the premise that the solutions to the issues we face exist in the wisdom of crowds. Edenbee is due to launch in January 2008 so click on Edenbee and sign up!”
