As one of the first companies to set up shop in East London’s Tech City back in 2008, amee has benefitted from low rent prices around the Old Street roundabout for the last few years.
But things have changed since then.
Now that we’ve got to move office to make way for residential accommodation we’ve been finding out how local rent prices have more than tripled since we signed our last contract in 2010.
In the last five years Tech City has boomed from 15 companies to well over 1,300.
While this is testament to the great success of the UK’s technology sector, the resulting price rises could result in many promising startups being priced out of the area, as the Independent reported in May.
