In most cases, the emissions from electricity are only worked out once a year by national standards bodies like DECC or the EPA. However, here in the UK we can access the current electricity production across the national grid at a 5-minute time resolution.
Realtimecarbon.org is a site that takes this realtime generation data and uses AMEE to convert to a carbon figure. The algorithm used has been designed and verified by AMEE’s science team to ensure it is compatible with the yearly figures published by DECC.
As well as being available via realtimecarbon.org, the latest emission factor is always kept up to date in the AMEE platform, in our Real Time Electricity category, and is available via AMEEconnect.
