New Funding and Appointment of Non-Executive Chairman

amee, the environmental information business, has closed another round of financing from its investors:  Amadeus, OATV and Union Square, total funding raised to date is now £13m.    The investment supports amee’s development of the ameescore and related insight to help businesses understand the environmental efficiency of their trading partners, identify related risks and report key environmental metrics in a transparent and consistent way.

amee’s investors believe that the ameescore will create substantial value for businesses in the UK by providing cost effective analytics to reduce costs, manage risks and report progress.   Also, using the ameescore, tools have been developed to automate the reporting required by the UK government’s Carbon Reduction Commitment (CRC).   Before the end of 2012, the ameescore will be available for all UK businesses.

In addition, the Board of amee has appointed John Fry non-Executive Chairman.   John is also a non- Executive Director of StartRight and Transforming Education in Norfolk.   John has extensive experience in media and information businesses most recently as CEO of Johnston Press, the largest publically traded regional media company in the UK.   He also held the positions of CEO Archant, Chief Executive of Misys Banking Systems and President of Dun and Bradstreet-Europe.   Earlier in his career, John worked at Bain Consulting and Proctor and Gamble.
